As the sub-editor, you’ll be in charge of ensuring all our copy is of the highest standard before it leaves the studio. That means making sure editorial content for our client's website, email newsletter and print magazine is word-perfect.

You’ll be working within Adobe and MS apps and have digital skills to adapt and learn new workflows. You’ll be working within a small editorial team of journalists, designers and videographers and occasionally working directly with clients.

This role requires someone with excellent grammar and spelling skills, an ability to produce engaging copy and hardworking headlines and solid knowledge of digital news publishing and SEO skills. Experience or an interest in business and markets journalism is key for this role.
• Sub-edit copy across news websites and print publications
• Enforce our style guides
• Create headlines, standfirsts, captions, infographic copy
• Research images and design ideas for articles
• Chase copy and set appropriate deadlines

You are an experienced sub-editor with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, energetic and curious.

You will already have a proven experience with working within a news publishing environment sub-editing story ideas that reflect the latest movements in the market. You will also demonstrate sensitivity toward client engagement. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a news publishing environment.

• Relevant experience in a similar role within the business and markets sector
• Excellent understanding of grammar, punctuation and spelling, and working with strict style guides
• Good working knowledge of MS and Adobe InDesign
• Excellent communication skills
• Good general knowledge of global issues
• Good understanding of financial and investment terms, or the ability to learn quickly
